Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to SoberStreak AI. These terms and conditions govern your use of the SoberStreak AI mobile application, our web app (available in your browser at soberstreak.ai/app), and our website, soberstreak.ai. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website.
2. What SoberStreak AI is (and isn't)
SoberStreak AI is designed for personal sobriety tracking, reflection, and motivation. It provides tools to help you stay accountable and mindful during your recovery journey.
Important: SoberStreak AI is not a medical device. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or addiction treatment. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider for any medical concerns.
AI Companion. The app includes an AI Companion—an AI chat feature offering supportive, everyday conversation as part of your recovery. Its responses are generated automatically by artificial intelligence. It is not a person, and it is not a therapist, counsellor, doctor, sponsor, or crisis service.
3. No guarantee of outcomes
Every person's path to recovery is unique. SoberStreak AI cannot guarantee any specific outcome, length of sobriety, or improvement in your overall health or wellbeing. Success depends on many personal factors and commitment levels that are beyond the control of the application.
4. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your own wellbeing, health decisions, and personal safety. We strongly encourage you to seek professional help from doctors, therapists, or addiction specialists as part of your support system.
Crisis Support: If you feel at risk of harming yourself or others, or if you are in any kind of emergency, please contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. In the UK, you can call Samaritans at 116 123 for confidential support 24/7.
The AI Companion is not professional or crisis care. Nothing the Companion says is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis or immediate danger, do not rely on the Companion—contact your local emergency services or a crisis line (you can find one anywhere in the world at findahelpline.com).
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoberStreak AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the app or your inability to access it. This includes, but is not limited to, any health outcomes or loss of data.
We do not exclude or limit liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so under applicable legislation.
Because the AI Companion's responses are generated automatically, they may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not right for your situation. You use the AI Companion at your own discretion, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we do not accept liability for decisions made based on its responses.
6. Intellectual property
Everything that makes up SoberStreak AI — the content, design, code and branding — belongs to us or is licensed to us. You're welcome to use it as part of using the app. You may not copy, distribute or build on it without our written permission.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful;
- try to reverse-engineer, hack or otherwise tamper with the app;
- use the app in any way that could harm other users or anyone else.
8. Community rules and how we enforce them
This section applies when you use the Community. If you only use SoberStreak to track your own recovery, it does not affect you.
What isn't allowed
You agree not to post:
- Anything that offers, asks for, or arranges the supply of drugs or alcohol. This is the rule we enforce most strictly.
- Contact details or links — phone numbers, handles, email addresses, or links to other sites. This protects members from being approached privately by people they don't know.
- Detail about how to take a substance — amounts, combinations, prices, or methods.
- Detail about methods of self-harm.
- Medical advice, including advice about withdrawal, detox or medication. None of us here are qualified to give it, and getting it wrong is dangerous.
- "War stories" — accounts of using that read as glamorising rather than as recovery.
- Anything illegal, abusive or hateful, and anything that harasses, threatens or targets another member.
- Anyone else's private information, or anything shared with you in confidence here.
Posts also have a length limit, and must be readable text.
How these rules are enforced
We use both automated tools and human review, and we think you should know which is which.
Automatic, before a post appears. Contact details, links and language we associate with supply are blocked as you post. The post is not created, and nothing is reviewed by a person.
Automatic, after a post appears. A second check looks for detail about substance use methods and hides posts containing it. This happens without a person seeing it first. You are always told when it happens and why.
Automatic flagging for a person to look at. Some posts are flagged for review rather than hidden — for example those touching on withdrawal or medication. These stay visible. A person decides what happens next, if anything.
Safety checks. Posts and messages are checked for signs that someone may be in crisis. This never hides a post. It shows you support resources, and it lets us follow up.
Reports from members. Anyone can report a post or a person. We review reports within 24 hours. If we cannot, we pause new posts across Community until we can—existing posts stay readable, and reporting and blocking keep working throughout. Blocking someone takes effect immediately and never waits for us.
Photos are checked automatically before they appear.
What we can do
We can hide a post, remove it, or restrict an account. We can also make the whole Community read-only if we need to.
If we act on something you posted
We will tell you. You will see, on the post itself: what we did, which rule it breached and why, whether the decision was made automatically or by a person, and whether a report started it. We do not tell you who reported you.
You can contest it. There is a "Contest this decision" option on the post. A person reads what you write and decides again, and you will see the outcome and their reasoning in the same place. If you would rather email, use hello@soberstreak.ai.
We get things wrong sometimes. If we hid something we shouldn't have, tell us and we will put it back.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on soberstreak.ai and within the app. Your continued use of SoberStreak AI after these changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction over any disputes, subject to mandatory consumer protection laws that may apply in your home country.
11. Contact us
If you have any questions or concerns regarding these terms, we are here to help. Please reach out to us at hello@soberstreak.ai.
